snow day
It was great to have a snow day. These are the first pots I've thrown since the holidays. Ideas for mugs, goblets, and saucers are finally beginning. I had a problem with the rims of the stems warping on past goblets I've made. I tried throwing them with a solid bottom that van Gilder suggests. Can't wait to assemble them.

Paul Soldner
Being a pottery student in the late sixties and early seventies, Paul Soldner was a great influence on my style of pottery as well as my approach to life and pottery. His legacy and work will continue to influence many.

Happy New Year
After reading pottery blogs for a year, I am now trying to set one up. I am a potter from West TN who produces in stoneware fired in an electric kiln to cone 6. I am a public school art teacher approaching retirement and plan on working more in my basement studio. Bloggers have given me so much inspiration. I now want to share my thanks and thoughts.
